The role:
This essential role operates in a dynamic, demanding and complex environment and is required to support a high volume of both proactive and reactive requests while providing timely, thorough and accurate advice, and coordinating the delivery of branch activities including administrative, financial, human resources and business management services. Reporting directly to the Manager, Delivery Support Office, the Delivery Support Officer is accountable for ensuring on-time, high quality branch output and engagement together with alignment and compliance with organisational and departmental administrative and support policies and standards. The role will coordinate and support standard business and administrative procedures ensuring systems are effectively communicated and applied across the branch and determining the extent to which matters should be escalated.
Working closely with the Manager Delivery Support Office and Senior Delivery Support Officer, the role will provide high quality support to the team and ensure delivery support tasks are actioned appropriately whilst maintaining confidentially on highly sensitive topics. The role will also be required to assist with the coordination of culture and performance initiatives by implementing cultural improvement initiatives in line with planned timeframes and operational planning. This will require the Delivery Support Officer to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
Are you right for this role?
To perform successfully in this role, you will have a demonstrated knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of, policies and practices relating to finance, human resources and records management. Your ability to analyse business performance data, identify trends and develop options to achieve performance goals is essential in this role. Additionally, you will have a proven ability to provide expert advice to managers and staff in the delivery of business services and the measurement of business performance within a large complex public sector service delivery organisation.
Effective oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are crucial in this role, together with your demonstrated experience applying these in an administrative management role. Additionally, your ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders is essential to performing well in this role. An ability or understanding of the requirements of maintaining a SharePoint or similar collaborative site would be advantageous, along with a good understanding of information technology and experience in the creation of presentations and documents using applications such as PowerPoint and Visio as well as other key Microsoft suite applications.
