  • Planning and scheduling of maintenance related services across Sydney Water's water, wastewater, stormwater, and recycled networks.
  • 12-month Fixed Term Contract
  • $136,027.21 base salary plus super

About the Role

Our Planning Teams provide planning and scheduling and logistics support expertise for the delivery of maintenance and operational tasks on the water, recycled water, wastewater, and stormwater networks to achieve customer, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.

This role is responsible for activity planning and scheduling of maintenance and operations activities works with relevant teams. The role will enhance Sydney Water’s corporate reputation and build trust with our customers, regulators and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee delivery of the maintenance work program in partnership with the Customer Hub/Area, ensuring that customer, environmental and business outcomes are achieved
  • Lead the planning and scheduling function, providing best practice resource planning and allocation
  • Lead customer feedback loop discussions across Networks teams and initiate process improvements to improve the customer experience
  • Provide planning expertise that ensures that the customer impact of daily maintenance activities is minimised
  • Coordinate proactive communications to customers affected by water supply interruptions or maintenance activities
  • Provide 24/7 response capability for network related faults
  • Liaise with other authorities and contractors to allow repair work to be completed in a timely manner
  • Work with external stakeholders including the Environmental Protection agency, NSW Health and Local councils.

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, or 6-10 years’ experience in utility network operations and maintenance/renewal, or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex customer/regulator/stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team environment, the ability to mentor and develop teams, and operate effectively as part of a wider management team.
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency and incident management, including the ability to be contactable 24/7 and be available to lead incident response, or experience deemed equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of industry best practice; including broad knowledge of water industry trends and water, wastewater and recycled water systems maintenance
  • Demonstrated high level ability to communicate with impact using highly developed written & verbal communication skills.
