Role Summary:

Skills:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well independently and in teams
Ability to build rapport with clients and their families
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Empathy and compassion to help those in your care exceed their own expectations.
Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, theories, assessments, and interventions
Proficient in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to be a proactive learner and to embrace clinical excellence.
Responsibilities:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, cognitive, sensory, psychosocial, environmental factors affecting their daily functioning.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at improving clients’ functional independence.
Monitor clients’ progress through regular re-assessments.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and supports involved in the client’s care.
Educate clients on adaptive techniques or equipment that can enhance their independence.
Document all interventions accurately in client records.
Stay updated with current research literature related to occupational therapy practices.
Prescription of complex and general AT, home modifications, seating and therapeutic services
High level communication and relationships with third parties
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
AHPRA registration
Full Driver’s license
Eligibility for membership with OTA
Completed or willingness to complete an NDIS Worker’s check prior to employment
