As a Yard Hand, you'll play a vital role in the smooth operation of the depot and yard. From handling plant and equipment to ensuring everything is ready for dispatch, you'll be keeping everything organised, clean, and operating at its best. Your days will be varied, with lots of opportunities to learn new skills and take on different tasks. Key Responsibilities
️ Manage Yard : Ensure equipment is stored safely and is ready for pick-up or drop-off
Damage Inspections : Receive incoming plant, conduct damage inspections, and report findings to Customer Service
Assist with Equipment : Work with the workshop to prepare equipment for servicing and inspections
Clean Equipment : Pressure clean plant and equipment prior to dispatch, keeping everything in top condition
Inventory & Maintenance : Fuel diesel machines, maintain the yard diesel tank, and install decals on equipment
Loading & Unloading : Safely assist with loading and unloading equipment for transport
Keep the Yard Tidy : Sweep floors, empty bins, and maintain a clean, safe environment for everyone What We're Looking For
Driver's Licence : Essential for transporting equipment and moving stock around the yard
️ Forklift Licence : Not essential but would be a bonus
Previous Experience : Yard hand experience or knowledge of EWP equipment is advantageous, but not essential
Interest in Machinery : Passion for tools and equipment, especially in the construction or hire industry
Self-Starter : Motivated, reliable, and ready to contribute to the team's success
Weekend Availability : Must be willing to work weekends on a rotating roster Culture
