Our Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response (EIPSR) program is a dynamic and innovative partnership with Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH), providing flexible, recovery-focused services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and psychosocial distress.
About The Role
As a Peer Recovery Worker, you will draw on your personal lived experience of mental health challenges to provide hope, inspiration, and practical support to people accessing the EIPSR program. Your role will be essential in empowering individuals to build their resilience, foster social connections, and navigate their recovery journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
Connecting with consumers through shared lived experiences to foster hope and recovery. Providing one-on-one and group-based peer support. Supporting individuals to access community engagement and employment opportunities. Collaborating with EIPSR Recovery Clinicians and AMAH Clinicians. Assisting in developing recovery-oriented care plans using a strengths-based approach. Co-facilitating group activities to enhance consumer participation. Helping shape and develop the peer workforce within BHN.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate and self-motivated individual with:
Lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery. The ability and willingness to share personal recovery experiences in a respectful and appropriate way. Experience in peer work within a mental health setting (desirable but not required). Strong relational skills and emotional intelligence. A commitment to fostering hope and empowerment in others. A Victorian Driver’s License.
Desirable
Completion of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Training or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work. A second language.
