About the Role
The Library and Learning Services Manager plays a critical role in enhancing student academic success by leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of learning support and library services.
This position focuses on providing high-quality academic skills development, digital and information literacy support, and learning assistance to students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning Support Services
- Design and implement academic support programs, including study skills workshops, writing support and digital learning resources
- Delivery and management of on-campus and digital learning hubs across all campuses
- Manage external learning support services (e.g.Studiosity) for efficiency and maximised value to students
- Manage the acquisition, organisation, and maintenance of library collections with a focus on digital collections.
- Engage, manage and oversee 3rd party library services and eBook vendors and ensure agreed service standards are met for staff and students
- Ensure library services align with student learning needs, including resource relevant and accessibility
- Develop digital literacy initiatives to support students in blended and online learning environments
- Work closely with academic staff to integrate learning support into the curriculum and provide targeted interventions for student success
- Collaborate with academic and product development teams to identify and source appropriate learning resources.
- Lead and manage the team, including recruitment, performance appraisal and goal-setting
- Provide mentoring and coaching support for team members to assist in their professional development
- Conduct annual performance reviews and set clear objectives for all reporting team members
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Qualification in relevant field, post graduate preferred
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing library and learning services
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in leading a team
- Working knowledge and understanding of contemporary approaches to library and learning service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office365
- Positive attitude and ability to think creatively and bring innovation to EDU and its subsidiaries
- Cross-cultural awareness
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and in a team
