Our client is a leading Australian ASX business who are on the lookout for a Senior Accountant to join the head office team. You'll have the chance to make a substantial impact by leading financial planning and management efforts, influencing strategic decisions, and driving financial excellence.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager and working within a broader finance team of 10+, this role offers diverse responsibilities across financial and management reporting and statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end finance for a portfolio of cost centres.
- Preparation of monthly management reports, including analysis of financial performance and key variances.
- Consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities.
- Preparation of ASX reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines.
- Month-end accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Monthly meetings with senior stakeholders to provide financial insights and updates.
- Manage finance-related queries and liaise with external stakeholders as required.
- Reconciling key accounts and preparing supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
- Acting as the key finance point of contact for operational stakeholders on finance-related matters.
Requirements:
- You will be a CA qualified accountant with a background in either Big 4 or reputable mid-tier who has already made the move into industry.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adept at prioritising tasks and driving initiatives independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication abilities, with experience in presenting financial information to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
