- $107,371 to $124,606 per annum HEO8
- Plus 17% employer superannuation
- Salary packaging options are available
- 5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum

About the role
The Senior Analyst and Data Scientist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced data models and analytical solutions to drive business insights and decision-making. They lead data science projects, mentor junior data scientists, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage data for strategic impact. This role involves working with large datasets, applying AI and machine learning techniques, and ensuring data-driven solutions align with business objectives. The position reports to the Manager, Analytics, Insights and Reporting and operates under their broad direction.

To be successful in this role, you are an experienced analytics and data science professional with a proven track record in designing, developing, and delivering innovative solutions that drive business insights. Your expertise spans traditional and modern analytics toolsets, leveraging advanced predictive reporting techniques and data science methodologies to develop impactful analytics solutions within a modern data fabric platform. With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you have successfully led teams of analysts and subject matter experts to solve business problems. You thrive in solving complex business challenges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
About the Business Unit
The Business Intelligence and Analytics Unit (BIA) supports the ongoing development, enhancement, and management of data and analytics underpinning business strategies and informed decision-making across the University. The unit governs data resources, develops reporting and analytics applications, and builds and maintains the underlying infrastructure for the data environment. The BIA Unit is also responsible for the University’s enterprise data warehouse; data modelling and lineage; management of production dashboards; the generation of analysis, insights and reports; data literacy; and stakeholder engagement.
