Overall, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.

The IT Transformation team will play a pivotal role in delivering on strategic projects and helping the organisation to achieve operational excellence.
About the Role:
This is a 12-month maximum-term position with the potential for extension, reporting to the Senior Planning & Reporting team. The Employee Data Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of employee data across various systems. As the organization implements a new HCM system, the role will support data migration, system integrations, and provide key insights to business stakeholders through data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
You will assist with system transitions, particularly during the implementation of the new Dayforce HCM system, including supporting data migration and integration efforts. You'll also develop Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable workforce insights, and streamline data processes through automation, ETL processes, and SQL queries.
Your focus will be on improving the accuracy and integrity of employee data by cleansing, transforming, and validating data from multiple sources, ensuring it aligns with business requirements and compliance standards. You'll play a key role in advising on data governance best practices, such as retention and purging policies, and ensuring data quality throughout the integration processes.
Additionally, you will collaborate with HR, payroll, finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless data management and reporting. You'll support continuous improvement initiatives, optimising data processes, and contributing to the overall system transformation.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience in managing employee data, including data cleansing, transformation, and loading from multiple systems. You should have strong skills in SQL for data extraction and transformation, and a deep understanding of data governance principles. Experience with HCM systems, particularly in the integration and ETL process, is essential. You will be proficient in Power BI, Excel, and Power Automate, and have a collaborative approach when working with cross-functional teams.
You will thrive in an environment that requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders. Your understanding of data security and compliance, along with your commitment to continuous improvement, will ensure that all data processes are efficient, accurate, and meet business needs.
More specifically you will have:
- Proven experience in cleansing, transforming, and loading employee data, particularly from HCM systems.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with ETL processes, ideally with Dayforce HCM.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI for developing dashboards, data modelling, and reporting, along with expertise in Excel for data analysis.
- Experience in automating workflows using Power Automate and a deep understanding of data integration best practices.
- Ability to work with stakeholders from HR, payroll, finance, and IT to ensure alignment between data processes and business needs.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security standards, ensuring compliance with relevant data retention policies.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to support system integrations, process optimisations, and data-driven decision-making.
