About Us

At St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria, our 12,000+ volunteers work on the frontlines, providing essential services to the most vulnerable in our community. From Vinnies Shops and Soup Vans to mental health support, youth programs, and home visitation, our initiatives are designed to offer dignity, hope, and a pathway for individuals to regain control of their lives.

For over 160 years, we’ve been a trusted charitable organization committed to social justice and community welfare. Now, we’re looking for an Executive Assistant to help our CEO and Senior Leadership Team continue this important work. This role offers a unique opportunity to support senior leaders while playing a key part in driving impactful community outcomes.

The Role

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving data-led donor acquisition, retention, and engagement within the Fundraising department. You will develop and implement strategies to grow our database and increase revenue from individual and community donors. This includes multi-channel appeals, donor retention initiatives, regular giving programs and community fundraising efforts. You will lead a team dedicated to maximising donor engagement and lifetime value, ensuring a sustainable and scalable approach to fundraising.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Regular Giving:

    • Lead the growth of regular giving through acquisition, retention, and upgrades.
    • Develop retention programs and collaborate with teams and suppliers to optimize donor acquisition.
    • Analyze key metrics and create communication plans to engage donors.
  • Donor Experience:

    • Build a supporter engagement framework to enhance donor loyalty.
    • Develop personalized donor care initiatives and work with data teams to implement automated, segmented journeys.
  • Donor Retention and Appeals:

    • Lead multi-channel giving appeals (e.g., mail, digital, telemarketing, SMS).
    • Develop strategies to retain and engage donors, refine messaging, and enhance campaign performance.
  • Community Fundraising:

    • Create and execute a community fundraising strategy.
    • Oversee peer-to-peer and supporter-led events and identify new opportunities for growth.
    • Collaborate with marketing and membership teams to promote campaigns.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:

    • Use data and analytics to optimize campaigns and report on key metrics to improve results.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and set goals for the fundraising team.
    • Foster collaboration across teams and manage relationships with external agencies and stakeholders.
    • Drive a test-and-learn culture to enhance donor engagement and performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Fundraising, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, individual giving, donor acquisition, retention and donor cultivation in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of donor development strategies, giving trends and donor engagement tactics.
  • Experience working with external agencies (e.g., direct mail, telemarketing, digital marketing).
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of overseeing teams in fundraising contexts.

What’s in It for You?

  • Salary Packaging Benefits: As part of the community sector, you’ll receive tax benefits that significantly increase the value of your salary.
  • Hybrid Work Model: Flexible working arrangements allow for a balance between office and remote work.
  • Family-Friendly Culture: We believe in supporting our employees and their families, providing an inclusive and positive work environment.
  • Collaborative, Values-Driven Workplace: Join a team committed to social justice, innovation and making a lasting impact.
  • Professional Growth: Work with talented colleagues who are eager to share their knowledge and support your career development.

This is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to contribute to the future of a highly respected charitable organization and support meaningful community change. If you’re ready for a challenge and the chance to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
