About your role:

  • Establish and maintain interagency networking with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and other statutory bodies or government agencies to facilitate quality improvement for managing and resolving fire hazards and risks in the workplace.
  • Undertake building fire safety inspections and audits of fire protection systems and equipment ascertaining compliance with legislation and approved policy/guidelines.
  • Comply with and utilise policies, procedures, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices such as workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
  • Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes and work practices. Identify areas for improvement and recommend/implement enhancements to existing practices.
  • Coordinate and manage statutory/mandatory infrastructure fire systems compliance.
