We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Labourer to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Labourer (Drainage Works) will be responsible for performing various tasks involving physical labour at construction projects and sites, specifically focusing on drainage works. This role involves assisting with day-to-day activities on-site, ensuring efficient project progression through all relevant stages. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate tools and equipment as required for drainage works.
- Shovel materials such as sand, cement, and gravel.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate the alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Handle materials on site efficiently and safely.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate potential hazards.
- Excavate and backfill trenches for drainage systems, compacting and leveling earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels and rakes.
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, distributing them to appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications.
- Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor machines during operations to ensure they are running efficiently.
- Maintain awareness of machine operations and report any issues promptly.
- Create and maintain activity logs to ensure accurate project documentation.
- Ensure company vehicles are kept clean and tidy at all times.
Qualifications:
- White Card (compulsory).
- MR Driver’s Licence (compulsory).
- Previous experience in drainage works or civil construction is highly desirable.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
