Role Overview:An exciting role awaits within UnitingSA's Community Aged Care team as the Clinical Operations Manager. This role is responsible for leadership of the multi-disciplinary clinical and home care team and the delivery of safe and effective care to Community Aged Care clients. The Clinical Operations Manager works with the Community Aged Care leadership team to ensure the efficient use of clinical and support worker resources to address client needs effectively.
Whilst working in collaboration with the Community Aged Care Leadership Team, this role oversees and implements systems that ensure the delivery of best practice, and safe, and effective clinical and home care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff regarding clinical matters through positive role modelling and leadership
- Ensure consumers with complex care needsare assessed holistically andre-assessed within identified timeframes
- Ensure infection control practices are embedded within the team
- Provide support to coordinators and manage clinical escalations
- Ensure the effective delivery of Community Aged Care services and supports which are guided by our Great Client Experience goals of Safe, Personal, Effective and Connected care
- In partnership with the Senior Manager and Managers, work towards achieving and maintaining accreditation, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement
- Oversee audits and, in partnership with Senior Manager and Managers, assess results and implement action plans
- Work collaboratively with Senior Manager and Managers to allocate staffing resource requirements (hours) against consumer care requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing
- 3+ years’ experience as a Clinical Manager
- Recent experience in a community setting providing direct clinical care, support, guidance and education to staff
- Experience in the Aged Care Sector
- Sound understanding of Home Care Packages (HCP) program/Support at Home and Transitional Care Program (TCP)
- Extensive understanding of Clinical Governance and its application to community aged care
- Sound understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation process and the application of the Aged Care Quality Standards and Guidelines for Community Aged Care services including legislation
- Extensive understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant industrial awards
