ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your skills in administration and stakeholder engagement to the dynamic, collaborative and inspiring Emergency Management team at Bass Coast Shire Council.

The Emergency Management team are responsible for delivering emergency management functions across the Shire. As an Emergency Management Administration Officer, your role will help support these functions by performing tasks such as:

  • Accurate data entry
  • Organisation of meetings, minutes and agendas
  • Preparation of correspondence
  • Coordination and redirection of incoming calls and enquiries
  • Filing documents in accordance with records management procedures
  • Ensuring the integrity of procedures, on-call rosters, contact lists, action lists and associated registers relevant to the team

There will be the opportunity to work closely across the Community Safety and Wellbeing department to support activities relating to emergency management as well as plan and support appropriate staff training in relation to emergency response, relief and recovery.

HOW TO MAKE AN IMPACT:

To be a success in this role, you’ll have strong administrative skills and proficiency in a range of computer systems, including MS Office Suite. You’ll have a good attention to detail and be able to manage and set priorities within required timeframes.

You’ll collaborate with diverse teams within the organisation, effectively communicating both verbally and in writing. It’s crucial to ensure effective communication at all levels with a focus on placing the customer at the core of your actions.
