The Role:
An opportunity now exists to join our Global Freight Forwarding division as a full-time Freight Officer in our team in Tullamarine, VIC.
This role is responsible for processing export shipments while coordinating and maintaining excellent customer service.
The goal will be to achieve high accuracy through our forwarding systems to ensure high productivity and operational excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Registration & processing of import shipments in accordance with Australian Border Force requirements
- Shipment tracking through airline website (arrival, customs clearance & delivery)
- Liaise with vendors, overseas office, customers, quarantine, CTO, airlines and internal stakeholders to ensure timely lodgment of shipment documentation
- Coordination of customer pickup requirements
- Investigate & resolve customer queries & concerns
- Data entry, reporting & delay updates
- Accurate and timely invoicing for customers and agents
- General administration duties
- Other ad-hoc duties as directed by Team Leader or Supervisor
- Ability to work independently and safely through implementing safe work methods.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 1 or more years of Freight industry experience using a freight forwarding system such as CW1, Expedient etc.
- Knowledge of incoterms/ knowledge of ICS
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- DG Certification (preferred)
- Maintain high level attention to detail.
- Ability to work unsupervised and be proactive in completing tasks assigned to the job function.
- Visa Status – Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident
