Our client, a leading global clean energy solutions provider, is seeking a Junior Electrician to join its innovative team at its Solar Farm in Northwest Victoria.About the Role:
As a Junior Electrician, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and operating a large-scale solar farm, contributing to Australia's renewable energy transition. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge solar and battery energy storage (BESS) technology. Located near Mildura, this farm has an installed capacity of approximately 110 MWp DC and spans 700 acres. It generates about 160,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, powering around 34,000 homes.
Your Responsibilities:
- Execute site tasks, including repairs of faulty equipment and PV installation retrofitting
- Manage vegetation control using specialized equipment
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other on-site workers
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports
- Ensure adherence to QHSE policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the central solar monitoring centre
- Trade qualification as an electrician with current A grade Electrical Licence
- Experience in power generation or similar industries
- Excellent electrical troubleshooting skills, particularly with solar farm equipment
- Valid First Aid & Low Voltage Rescue / CPR certification
- Current driver's and forklift licences
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- HV Switching ticket
- Experience with SCADA systems, transformers, and inverters
