About the Role:
As our Centre Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring children receive nutritious and delicious meals. You will be responsible for meal preparation, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and supporting the team with childcare duties when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals and snacks in line with dietary and allergy requirements.
- Follow existing menus that meet the Australian Dietary Guidelines and childcare regulations.
- Ensure kitchen hygiene, food safety, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Maintain stock levels, place orders, and manage kitchen inventory.
- Assist in office and rooms as required to support staff in maintaining educator-to-child ratios.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and the team.
Requirements:
✅ Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
✅ Working With Children Check (WWCC).
✅ Understanding of dietary requirements, allergies, and food safety regulations.
✅ Experience cooking for large groups (preferably in a childcare setting).
✅ A passion for creating healthy meals and a willingness to be part of a collaborative team.
✅ First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain).
