Working rights required for this role
Shifts: Youth (ages 01–10 years), Monday–Friday afternoons, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM during school weeks at Lake Macquarie LGA.
Essential Criteria:
• Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
• Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• A clear Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Check, and National Criminal Record Clearance, or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or managing challenging behaviors is a requirement.
Role Overview: As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide care, support, and supervision to young people with disabilities, aged 01–10 years. The role involves traveling to clients' homes to assist with daily living needs, promoting independence, encouraging decision-making, and fostering community participation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Personal Care: • Assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and medication.
• Household Assistance: • Light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Social Support/Transportation: • Facilitating social activities, grocery shopping, and medical appointments.
• Encouraging clients to engage in age-appropriate activities and tasks.
• Assisting clients with community activities and outings.
• Providing direct care as directed by the Manager in alignment with service agreements.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitoring client safety and well-being, reporting concerns or changes to the Manager.
• Supporting clients with assistive technology and personal equipment.
• Attending required training and participating in staff meetings.
