We’re seeking a supportive team manager to work in our fun and fast paced frontline role to help visitors have a great visitor experience.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established customer service and retail team responsible for the successful running of the Warrumbungle National Park Visitor Centre and Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre. You will be managing a motivated team of on-going and casual employees and ensuring the delivery of quality visitor information and booking services, school holiday tour programs and small community events. Working closely with the Team Leader, you will contribute to the development and implementation of NPWS’ visitor centre and services strategy, product development and revenue generation, related policies and procedures to provide an effective and efficient visitor information and retail facility.
To be successful in the role you will come from a tourism or retail background with previous supervisory experience as you will be managing a small team. Strong customer focus and communication skills is essential as well as previous experience managing financials and budgets. Ideally, you will have experience in using a variety of different systems and digital technology.
Please note you must be available to work weekends, public holidays and peak periods such as school holidays and long weekends.
About You
You’ll have strong communication and leadership skills to successfully mentor and manage a small team to consistently deliver a high-quality customer service. Your track record will also include responsibility for managing financial budgets and reporting. Previous experience working within a Visitor Information and/or education services arena will be highly regarded.
Essential Role Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and promote visitor services and an information and retail outlet.
- Relevant knowledge and the ability to inform visitors of the natural and cultural heritage values of the conservation reserves and the visitor services and facilities that are available.
- Demonstrated ability to use retail management systems to monitor and report on financial performance, stock control and security.
This role requires a Current Australian Drivers Licence and a Current Working with Children check.
