• Due to our growing portfolio of projects in NSW, we are expanding our team and looking for a Principal Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join our excellent Sydney team. The job is based in our head office in the heart of North Sydney (with the ability for hybrid working arrangement).
What You Can Expect As Principal Scientist / Engineer
• You will be the technical lead on major projects and the champion for developing and elevating the technical skills of our highly effective team.
• You will plan, direct and provide technical expertise for a large range of projects. You will be responsible for fostering existing and new client relationships to ensure accurate and timely advice is provided to all clients.
• This technical role will see you providing key technical advice and being the lead project director on a wide variety of contaminated land projects.
• As the Sydney technical leader, you will be responsible for delivering technical solutions with the full support from our team, including three Principals accredtied under EIANZ Certified Environmental Practitioner - Site Contamination (CEnvP SC), a Principal Risk Assessor and Certificated Occupational Hygienist (COH), with deep technical support from our sister company with nine Site Auditors, accredited across all states and territories in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Fostering a supportive workplace culture.
• Technical review and sign-off of fee proposals and reports.
• Train and develop junior staff.
• Review of deliverables to ensure technical accuracy.
• Ensuring all client deliverables are high quality.
• Providing technical and pragmatic advice to our clients.
• Taking the Project Director role on major projects.
• Keeping up to date with the latest legislation and guidelines.
• Business development to secure new business, including tracking tenders/opportunities.
• Attending conferences and workshops when necessary.
• Assist in the design of intrusive investigations for Detailed Site Investigations (DSI) and remediation programs to ensure efficient and accurate data collection.
Your Skills And Experience
• CEnvP SC.
• Extensive technical knowledge of national and NSW environmental legislation / guidance.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management, prioritisation, and
organisation skills.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the consultancy industry, with a minimum of 3 years recent experience based in NSW.
• A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An existing client base and industry network (desirable).
• A NSW EPA accredited Site Auditor (desirable).
