The opportunity
We’re looking for a Project Officer to join the Sustainable Agriculture team, supporting the delivery of our sustainable agriculture program which includes a targeted extension program and on-farm projects. The Project Officer reports directly to the Team Lead and is a full-time role, initially offered as a 24-month contract.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Delivering assigned project works in line with contracted works and deliverables
• Producing project administration including required reporting and tracking
• Providing insight to detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
• Analysing problems and recommending solutions
• Providing technical and analytical guidance to project works
• Supporting the delivery of other Land Restoration Programs
• Engaging stakeholders, including landholders and community, to negotiate outcomes for assigned project works
About you
Ideally, you will share our vision to lead the change that will deliver an environment for future generations to thrive. You will be highly motivated and can work autonomously in agreed timeframes. To be successful in this role, you will have all or many of the following requirements:
• Qualifications in Agricultural Science, Environment, Project Management or relevant discipline
• Ability to work collaboratively with agricultural landholders with an appreciation for the unique challenges faced by farming businesses
• Experience delivering projects on ground in line with WHS requirements and applying risk management
• Ability to produce and format technical documents, proposals, and spreadsheets
• Excellent knowledge of natural resource management
• High level communication skills, written and verbal
• Knowledge of stakeholder engagement across First Nations, Government, Research, Utilities, and Community
• Current manual QLD driving licence
