The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Assist the Communications Technicians to assemble, test, install, commission and repair voice and data radio communication equipment, computer equipment, telemetry equipment, audio switching equipment and other electronic equipment.
• Undertake instructions for the specification, development, and installation coordination of the QPS and portfolio partner agencies technology network, including the preparation of carrier applications, network diagrams, and site and facility drawings.
• Assist with the analysis and rectification of faults, in the telecommunications systems and facilities, which can include PABX, fixed and mobile telecommunications equipment.
• Assist to undertake the coordination and implementation of new installations and modifications of ICT networks.
• Aid in preparing and maintaining detailed documentation, schedules and drawings pertinent to equipment maintenance, technical facilities and assets.
• Comply with relevant equipment maintenance standards, and ensure all legislative, policy and procedural requirements appropriate to the position are applied.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory -
• Attendance and successful completion of on and off-the-job trade related training (TAFE); and
• Current C class drivers' licence.
Highly Desirable -
• Successful completion of High School Certificate (HSC)
Other -
This position is required to:
• Undertake on-call duties, overtime and work outside normal business hours
• Travel intra and inter-state as needed
