Description:

Redbank Plains State High School is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Officer to drive the school's brand, engagement, and community presence. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives, managing digital and print media, and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and the broader community. This is a temporary full-time position for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

With over 1500 students, the school offers a wide range of academic and vocational subjects and pathways to students living in the local catchment area. The school is divided into a Junior Secondary school from Years 7 to 9 and a Senior Secondary school from Years 10 to 12. The school has high expectations of its students' attendance, engagement and behaviour, with an emphasis on each student achieving to the highest level of their ability.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to enhance the school's visibility.
  • Maintain the school's social media platforms.
  • Write edit and manage content for intranet and internet and online calendar of events to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
  • Create engaging promotional materials, newsletters, and media releases.
  • Coordinate with Executive Team leading school events, campaigns, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote school achievements and initiatives.
  • Research and apply for award funding opportunities, developing well-structured submissions that highlight the school's achievements and initiatives to secure recognition and financial support.
  • Maintain and develop the school's SharePoint platform, improving workflow efficiency by streamlining document management and internal communication.

Highly desirable skills and experience;

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in managing social media, websites, and digital marketing tools.
  • A commitment to inclusivity, ensuring communications reflect the diversity of the school community.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
