About the role
Mater is looking for a Patient Journey Clinical Nurse to join Catherine’s House based at our South Brisbane campus on a permanent full-time basis working 38 hours per week.
Catherine’s House is a world-class, perinatal and infant mental health integrated model of care, providing both inpatient and outpatient services to public and private consumers
The 10 bed Inpatient Unit is a state-wide unit that provides acute perinatal mental health assessment and treatment to mothers with significant mental illnesses who are co-admitted with their baby. The Inpatient Unit is an Authorised Mental Health Service under the Mental Health Act 2016. As the Clinical Nurse, you will provide efficient, responsive and evidence based mental health nursing care to consumers at an advanced level.
This role will primarily work Monday to Friday. However, there may be need to provide cover for emergent leave outside of these hours. Your work will be mainly based in the Inpatient Unit, however when required, you will also assist the outpatient teams at Catherine’s House
Salary range: $54.48 - $58.30 (RNL2) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse, you will:
- Role model high quality mental health nursing care in accordance with the health care mission of the Sisters of Mercy
- Provide high standards of service delivery by ensuring clinical practice is contemporary, individualised, safe, recovery-focused and evidence based
- Provide nursing leadership to the wider team and mentor more junior staff
- Utilise mental health nursing clinical skills within an integrated framework for mothers affected by acute and complex perinatal mental illness
- Care provided will take into consideration the infant and the parent/primary caregiver-infant relationship. This may include access to needed medical, social, educational, vocational, psycho-social and other necessary services as they relate to the mother’s mental health needs, and their recovery
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and a current annual practicing certificate.
- Are an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) in Queensland or you have worked primarily in a mental health setting for at least two (2) years, thereby enabling you to apply for recognition as an AMHP after completion of relevant training.
- The successful applicant has or is willing to work towards specialist mental health nursing and/or perinatal and infant mental health qualifications
