About the role
Pho Viet Vietnamese Noodle Bar is growing and we are seeking 03 experienced Cooks to join our team in our Cairns, QLD 4870 location. This is a full-time position, where you will play a key role in preparing and cooking authentic Vietnamese cuisine to delight our customers.
Cook duties:
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and portion control standards.
• Prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Head Chef: grilling, boiling, steaming, and frying food.
• Monitor food quality and freshness throughout the cooking process.
• Preparing dishes to meet dietary requirements.
• Plating, garnishing, and presenting dishes as to the standard.
• Managing each order to ensure its items are finished and served at the same time.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings.
• Order and restock kitchen supplies and manage out of date items in storage areas.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
• Clean food preparation equipment and kitchen areas. Always maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Other Cook requirements:
• Have at least one year of relevant full-time work experience
• Have relevant qualifications at a level of AQF Certificate IV
• Hands-on hygiene and safe food practices experience.
• The ability to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently on your own.
• Effective communication, teamworking, and customer service skills.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Have knowledge of the authentic Vietnamese dishes/ Asian cuisine.
• The ability to work on a flexible roster over a 7-dayperiod, including public holidays.
• Have full working rights in Australia.
