About the OPPORTUNITY:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Assurance Engineer to join the Hunter Class Frigate Program on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Design Assurance Manager, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and managing the review processes for the ship's systems that Engineering Delivery teams will follow. This includes developing processes, implementing updates, managing data, and gathering feedback to enhance the ship's design maturity.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enhance Australia's Design Assurance capability by learning from experienced team members.
- Develop and enhance design assurance processes to support the Hunter Program.
- Execute assurance activities to drive design maturity of the product
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain effective engineering governance processes.
- Provide data-driven insights to the Chief Engineer and Design Authorities.
- Support the Design Assurance Manager in conducting assurance activities.
- Assist engineering and cross-functional teams with key assurance processes.
- Maintain Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) standards through professional development.
- Work towards professional certification with a relevant industry body.
- 2+ years of experience in systems engineering or relevant engineering fields.
- Experience working in complex stakeholder environments, project co-ordination and process development.
- Awareness and experience of design assurance processes.
- Experience with JIRA & Codebeamer is desirable.
- Ability to coordinate work hours with UK stakeholders twice a week.
- Ability to hold and maintain a Defence Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations.
