The OpportunityTetra Tech RPS Energy is looking for experienced Seismic Quality Control (QC), Source QC and Navigation QC for 4D Streamer and Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) projects. We are looking for people on a temporary contract basis, who can be added to our future proposals and bids for our seismic business.
Upon successful appointment, these projects will run during the 2025 North Sea season.We have multiple projects in both the North Sea and Norwegian Continental Shelf for a variety of clients. Each project will be on a five or six week rotation.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities, across the three above roles:
Assure implementation of clients Project Plan, Company and Governmental rules and regulations related to the survey and the vessel(s). Perform quality control of geophysical data acquired. Review node sync times against production to ensure clock drift is known for each node.Other important metadata will be reviewed such as battery life, dip, orientation, gravity etc. Take the lead on HSE during the survey. QC the seismic data as it is harvested from the nodes to ensure they meet contractual requirements. QC the seismic data QC outputs as they are generated by the processing system and suggest others where necessary. QC first break picking to ensure this aligns with the navigation data (deployed and recovered positions). Analysing the Near Field Hydrophone data to ensure the source arrays are operating to contractual specification. Liaise with the Seismic QC on the performance of the source during the acquisition. Ensure the integrity of the deployed node positions (as laid). Ensure the integrity of the recovered node positions (as recovered). Compare both deployed and recovery positions to preplot to ensure nodes are being positioned adequately. During deployment ensure nodes are positioned outside the required exclusion zone of any infield infrastructure.
Qualifications
All QC reps shall be in possession of a valid, approved offshore medical certificate, survival certificate, passport and work permit (where applicable). Relevant experience needed for the responsibilities of above seismic roles (onshore or offshore seismic experience can be considered) The Seismic QC will have significant seismic project management experience and particularly good knowledge of geophysical aspects of seismic acquisition and in particular OBN surveys.
