Description:
The position of Senior Case Manager is located within the Intervention Programs Branch of the Court Services Division. The office is located in the CBD however the Senior Case Manager may be required to travel to suburban courthouses regularly. Some travel to regional courthouses may also be required.
The Senior Case Manager works with defendants who are appearing in the Magistrates Court, and who have substance dependence disorders, mental health disorders, and/or mental impairment as criminogenic factors related to their offending.
The role of the Senior Case Manager is to provide effective case management and supervision of Treatment Intervention Court participants, including interagency referral and liaison to enable participants to access relevant services to address the criminogenic factors underlying their offending behaviour. The Senior Case Manager must also provide regular written and verbal reports to the Court.
This is a temporary contracted position until 27 June 2025.
Selection Criteria:
- Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act, 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act, 2009.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
- This role is identified as a Prescribed Position and the successful applicant is required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment with the CAA, which must be renewed every five years before expiry. A WWCC can be obtained through the Department of Human Services (DHS) Screening Unit
- As a justice agency, the CAA my receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
- Appointees may be required to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.
Requirements:
AHP2 - An appropriate degree in or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australia Association of Social Workers, or registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
PO2 - An appropriate tertiary degree level qualification in human services, social sciences, sociology, criminology, health, community services, or a related field.
Renumeration:
AHP2 ($88,255 - $102,240 per annum)
PO2 ($88,255 - $97,667 per annum)
