The Role
We are seeking a Material Logistics Officer to join our shutdown team in the Northwest region. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient management of materials, tools, and equipment on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly accounted for, in good working condition, and compliant with safety standards.
In this role, you will be overseeing the return and inspection of tools and equipment, ensuring they are left in their designated locations, well-maintained, and safe for future use. You will also monitor inventory levels and help ensure smooth daily operations by ensuring that all materials required for the site are organized and accessible when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the coordination of materials, tools, supplies, and equipment on-site to support operations.
· Oversee the return, inspection, and safe storage of all tools and equipment at the end of shifts or tasks.
· Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition, well-maintained, and meet safety standards.
· Monitor and track material usage to ensure inventory levels meet operational requirements.
· Perform regular stocktakes and assist in the reconciliation of materials and inventory.
· Assist in the creation and maintenance of material handling processes and documentation.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations in handling materials and equipment.
· Identify and address any equipment or material-related issues, ensuring that all items are fit for use and safe to handle.
· Maintain material tracking systems and provide regular reports on inventory levels and movements.
· Support the team in maintaining an organized and safe work environment.
· Other duties as reasonably required by your manager.
The Successful Applicant Will Ideally Have:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Experience in materials logistics or equipment handling, preferably in a mining or industrial setting.
- A solid understanding of tools, equipment, and machinery, with the ability to identify and report any faults or issues.
- A positive attitude towards safety and a commitment to upholding site safety standards.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams.
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on compliance and quality assurance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and material management software.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
