Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Fixed Term Part-Time (April 2025 - April 2026)

About the Role:

A key leadership role, the ANUM is responsible for the implementation of safe patient care in the perioperative unit and the effective coordination and management of the perioperative care service incorporating the sterilization function. The ANUM will be responsible for the operating functioning of the unit in the absences of the NUM.

This position will provide a high quality and effective service of assessment, support, advice and referral to enhance health, safety and well-being through involvement with patients and their carers.

Qualifications:

  • Current Nursing Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA).
  • Bachelor of Nursing or higher

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Achievement of competencies of an Registered Nurse in accordance with criteria as prescribed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
  • To have previous experience as a Registered Nurse, either in a generalist setting or that of a specialty.
  • Demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver of excellent clinical care standards
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to work independently of others;
  • An ability to represent as a patient advocate;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentially.

Desirable:

  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Minimum two years’ general Nursing experience, with recent experience with in the Perioperative environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in quality improvement activities
