MRAEL in partnership AMR Hewitts PrintPackaging are looking for an Apprentice Printer at their Tullamarine site, conducting lithographic printing. AMR Hewitts focuses on lithographic printing and prints onto a variety of mediums, specialising in folding cartons. What’s involved?
Undertaking a Certificate III in Printing over a four-year course, the apprenticeship is a mix of on-the-job training, as well as theoretical training. Working in the tight-knit team you will be reporting to the Production Manager and find yourself shadowing qualified printers providing assistance and developing skills to eventually operate your own press.
This role is a full-time 4-year Apprenticeship and will typically see you carry out the following duties:
- Provide assistance to qualified printers including keeping work area clean, preparing stock, retrieving inks
- Support with setting up lithographic presses between jobs
- Assist with quality checks of finished product
- General housekeeping of production floor
- Prepare and maintain work area
- Prepare, load and unload product on and off machine
- Support with transporting stock
About you :
To suit this role, you will be an eager and motivated individual with a passion for the graphic and printing industry. You will have good communication skills, seek out opportunities to learn and show initiative in your everyday duties.
