As the Manager of the WHS Board and Industry Committee services team in the Policy and Workplace Services directorate, you will support the WHS Board and six industry sector standing committees to provide independent advice to the Minister on work health and safety issues.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage a team to provide secretariat support for the WHS Board and Industry Sector Standing Committees to ensure accurate, timely and reliable information and communication that supports their statutory functions.
- Actively lead, promote and deliver continuous improvement in the development and implementation of a clearly defined WHS Board and Committee governance framework based on best practice principles.
- Develop, and coordinate the development of, high level advice and research for the Work Health and Safety Board and Industry Sector Standing Committees that enables members to discuss complex, confidential and sensitive issues and deliver impactful recommendations.
- Manage and maintain positive and highly professional working relationships with WHS Board and Committee members, external stakeholders and across the Office of Industrial Relations and other government agencies.
- Prepare complex submissions, reports, memorandums, briefing notes and correspondence that provide advice and support for the Minister, Deputy Director-General and OIR senior executives as required.
- Manage the team in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, OHS and ethical behaviour.
Our workforce needs to be able to respond quickly to new and emerging priorities. You may be required to undertake alternative duties or work in alternative locations on a temporary or permanent basis to support service delivery.
