As our AO3 Attendance and Administration Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring a well-organised and welcoming school environment by monitoring student attendance and providing essential administrative support to the leadership and support teams.
This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, from 22 April 2025 until 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.

Ipswich East State School is located in the Ipswich Region of South East Queensland. Established in 1958, Ipswich East State School makes a difference to ensure that together, we can achieve. Through teaching we empower students to be able to experience success in their lives.
Currently the school has a student population of approximately 380 students from Prep to Year 6. The school draws the majority of its students from East Ipswich, North Booval and Basin Pocket. The full range of curriculum areas are well catered for with a special education program also being offered.
The school offers a range of specialist lessons. Children access specialist lessons in Physical Education, Music, and for students in year 5 and 6, German. An Instrumental Program is continually developing within the school with Woodwind, Brass and Percussion being offered.
About the Role
Your work will directly contribute to fostering a positive and structured space for students, staff, and families. Supporting student attendance is critical in improving student outcomes, as regular attendance enhances engagement, academic achievement, and overall wellbeing. By monitoring attendance and ensuring timely follow-ups, you will help create a learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform administrative tasks under close supervision, exercising sound judgement, effective liaison, and clear communication within the team and with other stakeholders.
- Monitor student attendance records and ensure timely reporting and follow-up in accordance with school policies.
- Commence a process of introducing the QParents platform into our school and community.
- Support the leadership and support teams with general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, scheduling, and correspondence.
- Apply relevant guidelines, procedures, and regulations to resolve basic issues and escalate matters as required.
About You
Capabilities & Requirements
- Sound knowledge of relevant guidelines, instructions, and procedures related to school administration.
- Experience in administrative functions and an understanding of the relationship between various school departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply established procedures to resolve issues effectively.
- Proficiency in written and numerical tasks, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent administrative, communication (verbal and written), and organisational skills.
- Ability to use office equipment and software programs relevant to administrative duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
