As the Senior Financial Accountant , you will play a key role in financial reporting and provide valuable insights to support business decision-making. You’ll work closely with the CFO, General Managers, and Operations teams, helping drive financial excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, supporting the business in making strategic financial decisions.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Managing key areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring all costs are accurately captured through journal and accrual preparation.
- Preparing management reports with analysis of performance against budget.
- Assisting in the preparation of the head office expenditure budget.
- Identifying data inconsistencies between reports and the General Ledger.
- Preparing financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
- Compiling Board reports for inclusion in the monthly Board pack.
- Preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards including occupancy costs, store opening and closure costs and SSC department costs.
- Liaising with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy, including preparing financial statements for ASX.
- Performing ad hoc reporting and commercial analysis as required.
- Assisting and coaching of junior members of the Finance Team.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE REJECT SHOP:
- Degree in Accounting (CPA/CA completed or near completion preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel—strong analytical and data skills.
- Experience in corporate retail accounting (highly regarded).
- Familiarity with SAP (a plus but not essential).
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders.
