This role is a key position within the Project Management Office and is responsible for developing, designing, and delivering communication plans to support the implementation of high-impact projects.About the Role:
As the Communications Lead, you will be instrumental in leading and executing contemporary and best-practice communication strategies and engagement tactics to ensure the successful transition and embedding of project initiatives across multiple business units.
Working closely with key stakeholders including the Manager Business Integration, Change Leads, Project Managers, Project Teams, PMO Director, and the Manager Transformation Communications, you will ensure all communication and engagement activities align with project milestones, deliverables, and the change management framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute communication management activities to support the implementation of key initiatives across business units.
- Design and implement best-practice communication strategies tailored to each location to enhance change resilience and business readiness.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the agency to manage expectations and facilitate smooth transitions.
- Actively contribute to communicating and translating the agenda to key stakeholders in collaboration with program leaders.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making within the team.
- Develop and deliver targeted communication and engagement strategies that ensure stakeholders are informed, understand, and embrace the changes being introduced.
- Provide expert advice to leadership teams on communication risks, progress updates, and key observations associated with project transitions.
- Proven ability to provide strategic communication advice to leadership teams within a project or program environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering communication and engagement strategies for large-scale projects.
- High-level knowledge of contemporary communication and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
- Strong understanding of project management, change management, and business integration strategies.
- The ability to quickly develop an understanding of business changes resulting from transformation initiatives and translate them into effective communication plans.
- Experience in creating a variety of communication collateral, including online content, presentations, reports, and formal government documents.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated experience working within justice or human services environments (highly regarded).
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Change Management, Project Management, or Business (or a related discipline) are highly regarded.
- Possession of qualifications in graphic design would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel as required to different sites.
