National Finance Manager

VDI Australia Group of Companies have been the sole national distributor for Yutong buses since 2018, specialising in distributing Yutong buses and luxury coaches to a wide range of businesses and industries across Australia. At the forefront of the industries transition to zero emission buses, we are incredibly proud of, and passionate about the extension range of vehicles we offer.
Despite rapid growth during this period, we remain an Australian owned and family operated with branches now located in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Cairns.
Due to this growth, we have an opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified National Finance Manager to join our finance team to assist us through this period on permanent basis. The role will answer to the Chief Financial Officer and is based in Brisbane at our production facility in Eagle Farm.
Some of the duties will be but are not limited to-
- Manage a team of 6 reports located across Australia
- Comprehensive knowledge of GST, Payroll tax, FBT
- Maintenance and reconciliation of 4 separate entities trial balances
- Administration of the Company’s Trade Finance facility, including preparation of documents, and update of all summary sheets.
- ATO reporting including preparation of BAS & remittance of PAYG amounts
- Be prepared to do the hands on work needed to keep balance sheet accounts reconciled
We are looking for someone who –
- Accounting Degree
- Has the knowledge of ERP Systems – currently using Pentana DMS accounting software
- Is goal and target driven, with a keen sense of urgency
- Is prepared to be hands on
- Has exceptional people and customer service skills
- Has excellent time management, organisational and communication skills
- Can work autonomously and methodically as part of a larger team with a positive approach
- Is focused on a high attention to detail and the ability to adhere to systems
- Has the capacity to build & maintain good working relationships with staff and managers across the VDI network.
- Has an excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Has an operational knowledge of the use of SharePoint and TEAMS
- Has knowledge and experience with general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
