Description:

The Community Support Worker provides personal care to clients in home and community settings.

Responsibilities include assisting clients in group and individual social support settings, domestic assistance where required, transport and a variety of other duties including basic administration duties. The Community Support Workers provide a key link between clients, service providers and specialists with respect to appointments, transport, referrals and advocacy.

We are looking for Community Support Worker to join our growing team, based in Bunbury. We have permanent full time, part time or casual positions available for the right candidate.

Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to;

Essential Criteria

• Aged Care experience lived experience caring for elderly or passionate kind and dedicated person.

• Must reside in Bunbury or immediate surrounds and have local knowledge about the community.

• Ability to take direction, determine priorities and manage workloads in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives.

• Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable Criteria

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply

• A certificate or tertiary qualification in Community Services, Aged Care or similar field.

• Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, Occupational Safety and Health and how these impact on employment and service delivery.

All candidates must have a current WA Driver’s License and will be required to undertake a NDIS workers screening Check prior to beginning employment.

The preferred candidate will be required to provide a clear drug and alcohol screen prior to offer of employment.
