Join the Department of Trade, Employment and Training in a challenging and rewarding role as a Senior Field Officer specialising in multicultural engagement.

The Senior Field Officer drives employment and training outcomes for Queenslanders, with a focus on people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. You'll collaborate with organisations, industry, and communities to identify opportunities that enhance access to vocational education and training an employment pathways. Building strong relationships and delivering sustainable results are key. You will also organise forums and events and represent the department in various external engagements.

What We Are Looking For

The position requires an applicant who has:

  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, research, and computer skills.
  • The ability to analyse information, data, and trends to present findings throughreports and presentations.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with staff, clients, and stakeholders to developand implement regional specific strategies.
  • The ability to undertake or contribute to presentations to stakeholders, mediationwith parties in conflict situations, briefings to senior managers, preparation ofministerial correspondence, briefing notes, and reports.
  • The ability to represent the region and department on working groups andcommittees regarding a wide range of issues relating to employment and training.
  • The ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships with a range of stakeholders across cultures, management and staff as evidenced by the achievement of business objectives and performance targets.
  • Well-developed planning and organisation skills, including the ability to meet expectations and deadlines, through the achievement of business objectives and performance targets and accurate completion of work within pre-determined timeframes and a framework of accountability.
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset, commitment to personal development, proactivity, and public sector professionalism and accountability.
