About the CompanyI'm representing a leading developer and owner of renewable energy assets, in their search for an Assistant Environmental Planner.
About the Role
You will be responsible for coordinating and advising on environmental approval applications, to support the development of utility scale renewable energy projects (wind/PV/BESS). Renewables experience is not essential, other infrastructure etc planning experience considered. NSW planning experience is highly valued.
Key responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and advise on the preparation of planning and environmental permit/approval applications
- Help stay on top of external agencies conducting environmental studies
- Manage assigned planning and environmental compliance to agreed outcomes
- Monitor environmental policy legislation, national and regional planning frameworks and relevant technical information
- Support or lead effective and meaningful interactions with key project stakeholders at all stages of project lifecycle
- Degree in Planning, Environmental or other related discipline
- Experience in a planning and environmental role with a focus on infrastructure development (NSW planning experience valuable)
- Renewable energy experience an advantage but not essential (environmental, infrastructure, town planning etc also valued)
- Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on complex issues
- Demonstrated understanding of planning and environmental requirements on large infrastructure projects
