The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Curriculum Division in the Vocational Education Unit for a fixed term position.
* Salary: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%)
* 12 month fixed term
* Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions maybe available)
* Usual work location: 200 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne
Role purpose
The purpose of the Senior Program Advisor – (renewable energy) role is to participate in the core functions of the VET unit, advising on a range of programs or projects relating to the delivery and assessment of VET delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS), particularly programs with a renewable energy and engineering focus.
The position will include supporting providers to prepare for delivery of the new renewable energy certificate programs whilst supporting the delivery of existing programs.
It includes liaison with the VET sector, industry, schools, education providers, private and public sector, clean energy authorities as appropriate. It will involve presentation of professional development to teachers online and on-site.
Prior involvement in delivery and assessment of VET Certificates is essential. Experience in the areas of engineering, energy or renewables is highly regarded.
About the unit
The purpose of the VET Unit is to support the delivery and assessment of VET delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS) in Victoria. Staff liaise with the VET sector, schools, industry and education sector authorities, to support Senior Secondary providers with students undertaking VET.
The unit's role involves the ongoing monitoring, review, development, and assessment of VCE VET approved programs and implementation of all VET programs, including SBATs and ‘other VET' as part of the senior secondary certificate.

Experience and qualifications
Essential:
* Certificate IV in TAE (or above) and VET sector experience.
* Prior involvement in delivery and assessment of VET Certificates is essential.
Experience in:
* The areas of engineering, energy or renewables is highly regarded.
* Project management skills and ability to work independently are highly valued.
* Confident presentation and effective communication skills are required.
