This role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the commercial success of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the renewable energy sector, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and commercial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for renewable energy projects
- Manage the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier selection
- Oversee commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Monitor and report on project performance, including procurement and commercial metrics
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to align procurement with project goals
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Manage risks associated with procurement and commercial activities
- Provide strategic advice on commercial negotiations and contract terms
- Support contract administration and dispute resolution
- Implement best practices in procurement and commercial management
- Contribute to the development of project proposals and business cases
- Stay updated with trends and innovations in the renewable energy sector
- Mentor and develop junior team members in procurement and commercial management
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years’ experience in commercial and procurement management, preferably in renewable energy
- Strong understanding of grid-connected renewable energy technologies and projects
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts
- Excellent skills in procurement strategy, vendor management, and cost control
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Experience with project management and financial forecasting
- Professional certifications in procurement or project management would be advantageous
