Our Team

Our Above Water Systems team designs and engineers commercial and naval ships – as well as providing in-service support capabilities. We’re proud to bolster Australia’s sovereign capability through operational support to our Navy. With ongoing training programs and a team of over 500, our people have room to grow and move as they make a meaningful contribution to Australia’s Defence.

The Role

As a Subcontracts Coordinator , you will be responsible for engaging and managing subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of program requirements. You will work within an integrated team to develop cost-effective, high-quality, and timely solutions while maintaining contractual compliance. Your role will also involve vendor performance management, continuous improvement initiatives, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Request for Pricing (RFP) process, ensuring value-for-money solutions.

  • Evaluate subcontractors and allocate tasks based on cost, capability, and compliance.

  • Manage vendor performance to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Work with Procurement and Program teams to negotiate contracts and resolve disputes.

  • Ensure compliance with Australian Industry Content (AIC) requirements and security regulations.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualifications in Procurement, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Experience in contract management, vendor negotiations, and procurement processes .

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess subcontractor performance.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.

  • Technical background (Electronics/Mechanical) is highly desirable.
