We have an exciting, ongoing opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Koorie Student Support Officer .
What you'll do:
- Provide a range of welfare monitoring and intervention support to ensure the success of BHI Indigenous students to commence, continue and complete training
- Connect BHI to the training and employment needs of Indigenous individuals, groups and communities
- Support stakeholders including teachers, students, and other team members to achieve outcomes across educational excellence and retention and support of Indigenous students
- Deliver highly-valued support strategies to improve student retention and success and ensure an excellent student experience for students of the Institute
About you:
- Your values align to ours
- Victorian WWCC & National Police Check clearance
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities and knowledge of Koorie culture and history
- Ability to build relationships with Indigenous students and stakeholders, fostering positive educational pathways and cultural safety
- Time management skills while maintaining effective communication and record-keeping
- Experience in developing student support strategies and adapting action plans to meet individual needs
