About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will provide support in both office and field environments. This dynamic and independent role will see you applying your engineering skills in the field, drafting reports, preparing proposals, and delivering solutions to on-site teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of material handling systems, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee and manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs, providing technical support and engineering solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day tasks.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that installations align with design specifications.
- Provide ongoing technical support to clients and internal teams, solving any engineering issues that arise during the design, installation, or operation of systems.
- Ensure all engineering solutions comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, proposals, and documentation for clients, senior management, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in a Mechanical discipline.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience within a similar role, ideally in bulk materials handling or heavy industry / mining environment.
- Demonstrated conveyor knowledge.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to strategically evaluate and solve complex problems.
- Full Driver License (Class C).
