About the Role:We are seeking a motivated and analytical Merchandise Planner to join our client's fashion team. In this role, you will play a key part in driving sales and profitability by developing and executing strategic merchandise plans for both Women's and Men's collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the fashion industry, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute pre-season and in-season merchandise plans that align with the brand's financial goals and product strategy.
- Forecast sales, margin, and inventory levels, identifying opportunities and risks.
- Analyse historical data, current trends, and market competition to inform planning decisions.
- Collaborate with Design, Production, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure alignment on product assortments, launch dates, and promotional activities.
- Manage inventory levels, optimising stock availability and minimising markdowns.
- Monitor performance metrics, including sales, margin, turn, and sell-through, and provide regular reporting and analysis.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for product development and assortment optimisation.
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay informed about industry trends.
- Participate in weekly/monthly meetings to review performance and discuss future strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- Experience in merchandise planning, preferably in the apparel industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Excel and merchandise planning software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with both Women's and Men's apparel is a plus.
