The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.
We are located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs over 500 people including contractors.
We are seeking an experienced Surface Electrical Supervisor to oversee our surface electrical operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading mining operation and play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of our surface electrical systems.
About the Role:
As the Surface Electrical Supervisor , you will be responsible for managing the maintenance, repair, and compliance of all surface electrical infrastructure. You will lead a team of skilled electricians and work closely with site management to ensure high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of surface electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, and distribution networks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian electrical standards, mining regulations, and site safety policies.
- Coordinate and schedule electrical maintenance activities to minimise downtime and optimise productivity.
- Lead and mentor a team of electricians, providing training and guidance to enhance skills and performance.
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve electrical system performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports on electrical maintenance activities.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Electrical Trade Qualification and a valid NSW Electrical License.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of surface electrical infrastructure, including HV and LV systems.
- Understanding of Australian electrical safety standards and mining regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced mining environment.
