We are seeking two experienced Process Leads to support transformation initiatives in our Corporate and Shared Services functions. The roles will initially focus on Corporate but will contribute to change across the University. Both roles are pivotal to the success of our Workforce Transformation Program. As the Process Lead, you will manage projects and initiatives to improve operational performance with the aim of increasing efficiency and customer experience.
About the role
This is a hands-on role, and you will act as a process leader to the business, coaching the business and challenging the status quo to ensure the achievement of significant business improvement outcomes.
The University is currently implementing a Workforce Transformation Program across academic and professional services. This Program will enable the University to achieve its performance targets and align to the University’s strategic priorities.
The Process Lead is a key role in the Program and is responsible for the delivery of process improvements, for the implementation of new ways of working, technology applications, corporate operations and data analytics.
- Lead Process Improvement Projects: Manage and facilitate process improvement projects and initiatives to enhance service delivery and achieve program objectives.
- Project Management and Resource Allocation: Ensure effective project planning, management, and resource allocation in alignment with the Program’s PMO.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to understand operational issues, define business needs, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Data Analysis: Conduct data gathering, root cause analysis, and performance trending to inform process control changes.
- Digital Improvements: Review and optimize existing systems, test and implement new technologies, and leverage AI to drive digital improvements.
- Documentation Management: Oversee documentation and storage processes, ensuring accessibility and up-to-date information.
- Change Impact Assessment: Work with the Workforce Transformation Program team to assess the impact of changes to process, people, operations, systems, and technologies.
- Support Change Management: Collaborate with the Change Manager to prepare change communications, develop training plans, and deliver training on process improvements.
This is a full time, fixed term contract ending April 2027.
About you
You will be an experienced process lead and change leader, with the ability to deliver successful process improvement projects that support the organisation’s strategic objectives. Your expertise in business partnering with stakeholders, enables you to understand and define business needs to re-engineer processes that deliver efficiency, reduce costs and improve service delivery.
- Relevant process improvement qualification (e.g., Lean, six sigma)
- Demonstrated experience in delivering successful process improvement projects that support the organisation’s strategic objectives within a large and complex organisation.
- Proven ability to contribute to the review and assessment of change impacts on people, processes, and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Robust analytical skills to sort through and extract relevant information to support decision making.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
- Ability to influence and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of the higher education sector.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (black belt).
- Project management (Prince2)
- Experience in corporate frameworks (e.g. ITSM).
- Working within shared services and/or service delivery environments.
