Position Overview:

Our client, a leading Australian law firm, is seeking a skilled Senior Associate to join their esteemed General Insurance practice in Sydney. This permanent, full-time position offers a hybrid and flexible working arrangement, combining both remote work and time in modern, open-plan offices. Role and Responsibilities:

This role involves working within a collaborative and high-performing General Insurance team known for handling complex and high-profile claims. The position focuses on high quantum property recoveries, property damage liability claims (defense and recovery), and general insurance matters.

Responsibilities include:

Reviewing documents and preparing evidence,

Drafting correspondence for the Court and third parties,

Conducting witness conferences and preparing witness statements,

Preparing briefs for counsel,

Drafting court documents and attending court,

Preparing client advice,

Drafting instruction letters to experts, and

Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will possess:

A minimum of four years’ post-admission experience in general insurance law, particularly in recoveries and property damage liability claims.

Strong legal writing skills with exceptional attention to detail.

A proactive and team-oriented mindset with a strong interest in defendant insurance law.
