Our client is a highly successful Gold Coast business who provides innovative and safe lifting solutions for heavy machinery in the mining and construction industry. They have been in operation for over 50 years, and have developed a reputation for uncompromised quality, reliability and design.
A position is now available for a qualified, experienced Production Engineer, who will be the conduit between Engineering, Sales and Production. This role will be responsible for supporting site operations in the drawing, design, development, and optimisation of production processes to deliver improvement processes in the areas of ERP, manufacturing workflow, training and documentation.
The successful individual must have a strong background in manufacturing, an understanding of Mig/Tig Welding fundamentals, advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and the ability to create and modify BOM data to align with engineering drawings and production requirements. It is envisaged you will enjoy solving tricky problems, have an eye for detail with a strong focus on quality outputs, and enjoy working in a flexible and dynamic team environment.

- Develop and implement production processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and quality
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and improve product quality
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction
- Maintain documentation related to production processes and procedures
- Train production personnel on new processes and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve production processes and increase efficiency
- Identify and reduce bottlenecks within the production processes
- Ensure adherence to OH&S standards
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering essential
- Proven track record of success in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years of experience
- Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of ERP Systems, workflows and best practice – Ascentis highly desirable
- Ability to interpret drawings & engineering documentation
- Strong understanding of low volume manufacturing, particularly steel and sheet metal fabrication and machining
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be highly regarded
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be a self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks and works autonomously
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Excellent time management, organisation and negotiation skills
- MUST be living in Australia and have permanent working rights
