The Role:

As we continue to mature our positions and expand our teams, we're looking for a passionate Business Development Manager to join the retail team - Fruitlink.

This newly created role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing partners. The BDM will focus on driving sales growth, expanding market share, and ensuring exceptional product representation in retail channels.

Suncoast Fresh is a B2B wholesale company supplying high-quality fresh produce to the wider foodservice industry across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Toowoomba and beyond. Working closely with farmers, suppliers, chefs, business owners and hospitality account managers, we deliver a paddock to plate wholesale fresh produce solution that meets the ever-evolving demands of the foodservice industry.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within major retail independents to expand market presence.
  • Implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth in retail channels.
  • Manage and grow key retail accounts, ensuring strong relationships and sustained sales performance.
  • Create tailored product proposals and promotional strategies to boost sales volume.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with supermarkets, independent grocers, and specialty stores.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches and coordinate with internal teams for execution.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with the Sales Manager to maximize profitability.
  • Maintain and update the business pipeline, tracking progress and ensuring CRM (Zoho) is up to date.

What Will Make You Successful in This Role Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills that foster strong levels of collaboration and engagement across the organisation.
• 3 to 5+ years working in a BDM sales role within the independent retail industry.
• Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
• Excellent selling and negotiation skills
• Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently
• Must be computer literate. Experience with Zoho, Phocas or Fresh is advantageous.
• Fresh produce industry knowledge is advantageous
